Claude has moved into the apps where most of your work already lives. Also today: a search tool built for AI agents, a new personal agent from the founder of Figure, and OpenAI's pile of math papers that mathematicians are not sure what to do with.

See what's really happening in every deal

Aligned shows you what buyers are doing between meetings inside your most important deals then surfaces the risks, openings, and next steps. No more guessing where a deal stands or finding out a champion went quiet too late. Just real visibility, so you can act before it's too late.

TODAY IN AI

3 stories worth your next 90 seconds

1. Anthropic puts Claude inside Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.

Install it from the Google Workspace Marketplace, then open it from the Extensions menu. In Docs it proposes edits as suggestion cards, in Sheets it writes formulas, pivot tables and charts, and in Slides it builds new slides from your deck's own layouts and themes. It is in beta on all paid plans, and the default mode asks before every edit. Read Anthropic's announcement.

2. Cloudflare adds a Web Search API so AI agents can look things up live.

The new tool lets agents search the internet instead of guessing URLs or relying on a model's training cutoff. It runs on three providers, Ceramic.ai, Exa and Linkup, each with zero data retention for Cloudflare requests. There is no markup beyond each provider's normal pricing, and it is in beta. See Cloudflare's changelog.

3. Hark opens Hark Pro, a personal AI agent that remembers what you told it.

Founded by Brett Adcock, who also started Figure AI, Hark pairs a chat that keeps memory with Handoff, an agent that can browse the web, place orders and build presentations for you. It runs in the browser and on iOS and Android, and Hark says it checks with you before doing anything that needs your approval. Pricing is not listed on its site. See what Hark Pro does.

FROM THE FRONTIER

OpenAI published 722 math papers. Who checks them?

The release. On October 6, OpenAI published 722 manuscripts organized into 372 families, drawn from about 4,000 problems it posed to an unreleased model. They cover number theory, combinatorics, theoretical computer science and mathematical physics.

The price tag. The average result used compute equal to about three hours of ChatGPT Pro reasoning. That is the striking number, because it makes a research paper cheaper than a day of a person's time.

The catch. Verification is uneven. Some papers come with computer-checkable Lean proofs and some do not, OpenAI warns that unformalized results could contain issues, and the model that wrote most of them is not available for anyone to replicate.

The letter. On September 11, 28 mathematicians signed a declaration called "A Severe Misalignment of AI in Mathematics". It warns about hastily announced solutions, attribution and plagiarism questions, and the risk that solving famous problems replaces actually understanding them.

The reframe. When a paper costs three hours of compute to produce, writing stops being the bottleneck. Checking and crediting the work becomes the scarce job, and that is true well beyond mathematics.

IN THE KNOW

What people are actually watching and sharing

Who can edit what. Claude's access follows your existing Google sharing permissions. A second mode, Accept all edits, lets it keep working without stopping to ask.

Built for IT teams. On Enterprise plans, the Compliance API, customer-managed encryption keys and audit export apply to the Google add-on too.

Two ways in. Developers can call Cloudflare's search through a REST API or a Workers binding, and billing runs through AI Gateway credits.

Panels for your life. Hark Pro offers custom panels that track data from services like Strava, Spotify and Venmo, and the company advertises end-to-end encryption.

A big war chest. RuntimeWire reports Hark raised $700 million in a Series A at a $6 billion valuation in May.

PROMPT STATION

Turn any messy spreadsheet into a cleanup plan

AI inside your spreadsheet is only as good as the instructions you give it. This prompt works in Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini and turns a messy sheet into a step-by-step plan covering cleanup, formulas, a pivot table and a chart. Try it on the sheet you keep meaning to fix before the next report is due.

COPY AND PASTE THIS PROMPT

Act as a careful data analyst who plans spreadsheet work before touching any data.

MY SHEET: [DESCRIBE THE COLUMNS AND WHAT EACH ROW MEANS]

THE PROBLEMS I SEE: [DUPLICATES, MISSING VALUES, MIXED FORMATS, ETC.]

WHAT I NEED AT THE END: [A SUMMARY, A REPORT, A CHART]

Write a numbered plan with four parts: the cleanup steps in order, the formulas to add with the cell each one belongs in, one pivot table that answers my goal, and one chart that shows it clearly. Add three checks I can run to confirm the numbers are right.

Do not change any data yet. Ask me before any step that deletes or overwrites anything.

Swap [WHAT I NEED AT THE END] with something like "monthly sales by product", "a budget versus actual comparison" or "which customers have not ordered in 90 days". For a sharper result, paste five sample rows under MY SHEET so the plan uses your real column names.
